As the PSLE was approaching, I felt panic and pressured. Teacher Daphne was patient and clear when explaining the concepts. Her explanations were specific, allowing me to understand the concepts better and therefore aiding me in my studies and exams.
All these helped me keep my cool and not be worried during the exam. It was overall an enjoyable experience, and I managed to obtain an A* for my science in the PSLE.

My daughter joined Teacher Daphne in the middle of Primary 3 for Science and thereafter, we never had to look back at our initial decision. WHY? From a 60+ score at P3 to an A* in PSLE.
Teacher Daphne is a very patient and nurturing Science tutor. With her pleasant and genuine caring personality, my shy and fussy daughter opens up and bonds with her very quickly.
Teacher Daphne produces her own comprehensive yet easy reading notes for her students. Her notes highlight the answering techniques which involve the keywords, concepts and the correct approach for various contexts in which students find difficult to grapple with and tend to lose marks easily. Teacher Daphne always encourages her students to read the notes many times to strengthen their Science concepts. By showing her students related videos and the application of the Science concepts in their daily lives, Teacher Daphne makes the lesson interesting and alive so that her students can relate and see the connections.
Teacher Daphne also does not give answer easily but instead, question the students to trigger their thinking. This helps my daughter’s brain neurons to multiply rapidly over the years to get ready for the PSLE which is a thinking exam.
Besides teaching Science, Teacher Daphne also emphasises character building - Integrity. She believes that integrity will go a long way for the students after they have graduated. By allowing her students to have independence (attempt the questions on their own) and expecting honesty (instead of copying from the answer key), Teacher Daphne has been successful in teaching integrity. Now, my daughter is a role model of integrity to her younger brother.
Teacher Daphne will also go the extra mile to help her students clarify their doubts. There was once she answered my daughter’s text on a busy train through voice call just to ensure my daughter did not misinterpret the concept even though she was tired after a late night at work. My daughter was touched.
Thank you Teacher Daphne for instilling in my daughter the confidence in Science hence her passion for the subject continues to grow even in Secondary School. As a parent, I highly recommend Teacher Daphne.

Teacher Daphne has taught me a great deal about Science, ranging from a more in-depth knowledge about each topic, to the most useful studying techniques and tricks to answering questions.
Through her teaching, I began to understand that getting better grades for science was not actually that hard.
She helped me score A* for Science in my PSLE, a grade which I have never achieved for the subject.

Your dynamic approach to teaching is commendable. You are able to create content for students to learn science enthusiastically. My girls learn very well especially with your mindmaps, interesting videos on animal adaptations, and the worksheets testing them on application questions. These are particularly useful in engaging them to learn actively.
You are also an amazing and caring teacher who constantly asks students about their performance. Prior to exams, you'll send encouraging messages as moral boosters. Due to your dedication, my girls love you a lot.
Notably, we have seen tremendous improvements from both my girls. Both have been consistently scoring good grades in science, with my elder daughter scoring A* for both prelims and PSLE this year.
